    Overview of Kings Sanctuary – Jungle Lodges & Resorts

    Located on the northern fringe of the Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Kings Sanctuary is just an hours drive from Mysore and four hours from Bangalore. The reserve is home to a good population of tigers, leopards, Asiatic Elephants and Gaur along with several other species of mammals, reptiles and birds. The Kings Sanctuary will not disappoint the serious wildlife enthusiast or leisure travellers looking for luxury in an unspoilt natural environment.

    Set in the midst of 40 acres of mango orchards and lush lawns and various other Indian and exotic fruit bearing plants and trees, the Kings Sanctuary has 24 air-conditioned luxury suites and cottages with imported handmade furniture’s from Thailand and Indonesia, a swimming pool, conference hall and a wide range of activities for both adults and children including the jungle safaris into the national park accompanied by naturalists. The Kings Sanctuary is an ideal resort for family vacations and corporate getaways.

    The best time to visit is just after the monsoons, between August and February, when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant. This is the best time for birdwatching as well – river terns, fishing eagles, wood peckers, kingfishers and other water birds flock here. During the other months, the water recedes and reveals wide sand banks, which are great for idling away the evening. The summer months (March – June) can be very warm, especially in the afternoon.

    DAY 1
    1:00 pm – Check in , Settle down and freshen up
    1:30 pm – 3:00 pm | Treat yourself to a sumptuous lunch at the Gol Ghar
    3:00 pm – 3:30 pm | Gear up for a ride into the Park.
    3:30 pm – 6:15 pm | Our naturalists take you on a wildlife Safari in Vehicle into the Nagarhole National Park, showing & sharing their experiences and information about the jungle and all the animals that live there
    6:30 pm – 7:00 pm | Tea/ coffee with Snacks served at the Gol Ghar
    7:30 pm – 8:20 pm | Watch a wildlife movie with campfire
    8:30 pm – 10:00 pm | Dinner at Gol Ghar, exchanging tales of the jungle with the other guests and our staff.

    DAY 2
    5:30 am – Wakeup call
    5:45 am – 6:00 am | Tea and coffee at Gol Ghar
    6:00 am – 9:00 am | wildlife Safari in Vehicle into the Nagarhole National Park (One Safari included in package, additional safari Rs.2,242.00 extra ).

    Travel Tips

    1. Dress for comfort. Do avoid bright colours and stick to muted shades of green, black, grey and brown. The more you meld with the background, the better. Wear comfortbale walking shoes. 2. Avoid smoking – anything can start a forest fire. 3. You’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, torch, etc. 4. Avoid plastics. We’re really trying to cut down on plastics. 5. PETS ARE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED
